For the second day running no racing was possible due to a lack of wind at the 2013 Finn Gold Cup on now in Tallin, Estonia where kiwis Josh Junior, Andrew Murdoch and Matt Coutts are competing.

The regatta is scheduled over six days, with four of those now passed and just four races sailed in light winds on the opening two days, the final two days in the programme become even more important.

While the plan was for two races per day the notice of race allows organisers to stage a third race in order to catch up this is what they will attempt tomorrow bringing the scheduled start time forward to 10am in Estonia. Now what is required is for the weather to play its part and produce some wind.

Robert Deaves of the International Finn Class Association explains the situation; 'One more race needs to be sailed before a medal race can be sailed on Saturday. After one more race, the discard also comes into play, which could change the leader board somewhat. However, whatever happens on the next two days the necessary four races have been completed to constitute a valid championship.'

Currently the kiwi standings are; Josh Junior 15th, Matt Coutts 18th and Andrew Murdoch 23rd. All three sailors will be eager to see a turnaround in the weather for tomorrow’s penultimate day.

Racing resumes tomorrow, weather permitting, for day five of the six day series which runs from Monday 26th – Saturday 31st August when the medals and the Finn World title for 2013 will be decided.
