Whoooo….Go Big Fella and Dog!!!

It’s often said that the Star Class is the toughest one design sailing Class in the world.

Iain Murray & Andrew Palfrey (Star) at the ISAF World Championship 2007

Today two Australian ‘youngsters Iain ‘Big Fella' Murray and Andrew ‘Dog’ Palfrey are equal top on the points table, (ignoring a count back) half way thru the 2008 Star Worlds in Miami. We have our fingers and toes crossed… good luck fellas.

Lots happened over the weekend in the sailing world, so we have plenty of news in today's newsletter but at the same time, we’ve been busy at the publishing end of the table.

We have another online expansion from the team that brings you Sail-World

Back in 2000 the TetraMedia team started Sail-World.com. As the web grew, so did Sail-World, with sites in New Zealand, Asia, the USA and UK- Europe. Then Nancy Knudsen stopped long enough on her Round the World cruising passage to become the Sail-World Cruising World and Australia Cruising editor. Last year Bob Wonders, who has forgotten more about powerboats from the largest offshore cruisers to the tiniest tinny than most other commentators will ever know, became our founding Editor of Powerboat-World.

As the web has continued to grow in significance our circulation began to dwarf the old media and the depth of our marine coverage continued to deepen.

Jeni Bone, founding Editor of MarineBusiness-World.com
. .

Day after day we worked at deepening and expanding our coverage, but while we were doing this we could see that the marine business community was still living with old news.

Surprise, surprise now we’ve taken the logical step and taken MarineBusiness-World.com online. Jeni Bone, who was for three years the editor of the print publication Marine Business, is our founding editor.

What does this mean for sailors, more depth in our coverage, right across the group… while the marine trade magazines focus on powerboats, we know and love our sailing and so Jeni will be leading our team as we problem more deeply into the Sailing industry across the Asia Pacific.

Today we welcome Southern Spars from New Zealand to our ever growing list of advertisers. You will hear more about what the southern hemisphere's leading spar maker is up to, over the coming months.
