Our Crusing Editor Nancy Knudsen’s Petersen 46 Blackwattle is still standing by Mike and Jos Franklin’s distressed yacht Mary Constance as she creeps toward St.Lucia.

Both of these ARC Boats are from RPAYC, a long way from home. You can read Nancy’s latest logs.

Today we’ve heard from Mike sister Sue Franklin who is cruising her own Petersen 46 in Northern Borneo who has been following Nancy’s reports via Sail-World Cruising.

Wonderful pictures and information from Paul Johnson who has a charter boat operation that goes into the Mergui Archipelago in Myanmar, just four hours from Phuket. This seems like an adventure NOT to be missed.

The first ever Australian Marine Industry Report is now available for downloading. It provides very comprehensive date on the marine industry nationwide. Credit to all the Government agencies involved and to Andrew Powell and his Nautical Media Partners team who has put the project together. If your company is the Marine Industry, this is compulsory reading. Go to NauticalMediaPartners.com

Sailors ARE online. Sail-World visitors number continue to climb, probably because people would, to the constant amazement of the magazine publishers receive their news NOW, rather than in two months.

We’ve set three new traffic records in the last two weeks. If you’ve been thinking about advertising your products online NOW would be time to launch. Contact Liam Daly at Nautical Media Partners 0405 497 423

The monthly unique visitor numbers for Sail-World Australia and Sail-World Australian Cruising (independently verified*) are now much greater than the combined circulations of Australian Sailing, Australian Yachting, Cruising Helmsman, Modern Boating and Sea Spray.

Sail-World does not wait for sailors to visit. 80,000 newsletters a week, deliver News, Advertisers’ Press releases and hyperlinked ads to a loyal subscriber base.

Sail-World will have 500,000 unique* visitors in 2006 (*a sailor who visits every day all year is still just one unique visitor) and we recording weekday averages of 150,000 page views.

A major story about a marine company may appear in a magazine once, but then it is gone. By contrast Sail-World’s 30,000-story archive is online.

Google, Yahoo and other search engines and news-feed services index Sail-World news stories within five minutes of publication and so large volumes of Sail-World traffic comes from Internet searches.

Why do the worst things always happen at night? Something wakes me – it’s dark – I am immediately alert but don’t know why. There’s something different.
