Welcome to Sail-World.Com’s America’s Cup newsletter for Day Four of the Louis Vuitton Cup.
Although the teams were sailing, there was no racing in the Louis Vuitton Cup for the fourth successive day, and of course, there has been no racing n the event.
Opinions are divided on when racing will start.
The team weather gurus are moderately upbeat in the official prognostications about prospects for the weekend. However the BBC temperature charts are less upbeat, showing that the high was today and that land temperatures will fall progressively over the next few days, along with a fall in windstrength.
The reality is that what will happen, will happen, and there is little point now in agonising over why the racing was scheduled for this time, why the schedule is so tight, and what the outcomes could be.
Ashore Chief Measurer, Ken McAlpine answered media questions on the Public Interpretations and particularly on the so-called 'canting keel' options under the America’s Cup Class rule. See Bob Fisher’s report about what McAlpine did and didn’t say.
Sail-World also has a new feature, for this America’s Cup, anyway. At the bottom of the BMW Oracle Racing story we have attached an audio clip with Eric Doyle. We have been running these clips with other sailing events and stories, but this is our first for the 2007 Louis Vuitton Cup and we look forward to bring you more over the coming weeks.
