Disturbing news from boat building giant Riviera as CEO Wes Moxey steps down and 121 staff lose their jobs.
Sadly, other companies are rumoured to be ‘doing it tough', but the boating industry is resilient and fortunately many industry leaders are confident of coming out stronger when the economy picks up, as it will.
On the bright side, organisers of the F1 Superboat Series are pressing ahead with plans for the Gold Coast to host the Grand Final in November and promising sales figures continue to emerge from the recent Sydney International Boat Show.
That astonishing trimaran, Earthrace, continues to make news and a timely reminder – next Wednesday (Aug 27) heralds the opening of the Brisbane International Boat Show at the Brisbane Exhibition Centre.
