'Bright and breezy' start to China Coast Regatta
RHKYC Event Media,
A bright and breezy day off Lamma Island, to the south of Hong Kong, offered competitors ideal conditions for the first day of the 2008 Total Lubmarine China Coast Regatta. While conditions at 0930hrs looked a little soft, the breeze filled in to a 10 knot northeasterly by the first start, and further strengthened to 15 knots during the first race of the day.... It's all about looking good at the China Coast 08
Guy Nowell, Sail-World Asia,
There was a seriously 'quality' fleet out there today for the opening races of the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club's flagship event, the Total Lubmarine China Coast Regatta. Just six boats contributed 325' LOA to the IRC Div A, from Frank Pong's evergreen and much-optimised RP75 Jelik down to Chris Meads' impossibly shiny Corby 43, Full Metal Jacket. And in between there two TP 52s (Highland Fling and... [more]

America's Cup Principals miss the Boat
Richard Gladwell, & Stuart Alexander,
An expected meeting, the second between the principals of the two estranged America's Cup teams failed to take place over the weekend, and an out-of-court settlement in the bitter dispute, now seems unlikely. Meanwhile reporting in The Independent (UK), leading yachting writer Staurt Alexander was far more optimistic... [more]
