Editorial

While the focus is switching to enjoying time on boats, as Christmas is nigh, there are signs that business and boat sales are alive and well.

Boat broker Grant Torrens and his team have sold $11.5 million-plus worth of boats in the past 52 days!

And if you're in the market for a new boat, take a tour of ‘Ashena'; she'll only set you back about $10 million.'

We speak with Tom Barry-Cotter and hear first hand of the near disastrous spin out in Dubai that left Tom nursing a sore neck and knocked throttleman Pal Virik Nilsen unconscious.

Round the World Record holder - the 78 foot bio-diesel powered trimaran Earthrace and her Kiwi skipper coming to a marina near you.  Earthrace Media

Meanwhile, ‘Earthrace', the amazing trimaran, managed to solve its Mooloolaba problems and allow visitors on board and voyaged down to Brisbane where she spent a couple of days at Southbank before heading for a Christmas break at Cleveland.

She's due into the Gold Coast on Sunday morning (Dec 28).

All of us here at Powerboat-World.com now take this opportunity to wish all our subscribers a safe, happy and joy-filled Christmas.

We'll be around through the Christmas period, with our sister publication Sail-World all guns blazing in the middle of the racing season.

During the holidays, if it's powerboat-related and worthy of reporting right here is where you'll find it.

Stick with us and drop by on a regular basis.

A Merry Christmas to all.
