New brands, new rules, new optimism for boat sales

Let the Shows begin! London is behind us, Miami is looming, Melbourne International Boat & Lifestyle Show heats up January 30 to Feb 1 at Docklands, followed by the Perth Summer Boating Festival 20-22 January, Auckland 14-17 May and SCIBS 21-24 May and so on.

From all reports, drastically reduced prices, soft currencies and a warming consumer sentiment have led to buoyant sales in London, thanks in part to avid and active European and Middle East markets.

Organisers of the Sydney International Boat Show, BIA NSW, says its realistic that demand may be down this year, but their marketing zeal and strategies for promoting the boating lifestyle will be increased.

As will the efforts of the organisers of the Mumbai Boat Show, coming up in February, just a few months after the despicable acts of terrorism at the doorstep of the Boat Show's venue. Read all about it in our exclusive interview with Sujay Chohan, the show's director.

So full steam ahead into the 2009 Show Circuit, covered by us in detail throughout the year, along with any and all business stories across the globe.

Keep in touch!
