Interminable wet, Superior celebrates success, SYBA rebrands
As I write this, the sun is breaking through for the first time in weeks (10 days anyway . . .) The Gold Coast and environs have really been punished with deluges, huge seas and bitter cold. The beaches are hugely impacted and no doubt, that has led to much silting and sand bars in our Broadwater. But, it's still the only place to live and boat.
Skies are clearer in Victoria, and according to Scott O'Hare from Aussie Boat Sales, aside from ideal boating weather, his company's consistent customer service, investment in stable brands and diversification are the keys to strong sales.
With the Melbourne Boat Show coming up, followed by the cap cities in quick succession, we are all hoping for the best SALE conditions for all.
This week we profile the reasons for the branding and livery changes at SYBA (Superyacht Base Australia), under the guidance of Chairman David McQueen, a fascinating visit to the X-Yachts factory in Denmark by Bob Mulkearns from North South Yachting, the first look at the new Mustang Marine 2800 Sports Cruiser, plus a nod of the hat to our newest recruit at TetraMedia, sales dynamo, Phil Arane.
Thanks for all your story leads and suggestions - I will get around to covering the pertinent concepts. Your letters are welcome and I will take onboard most of your advice!
