Vale John Haines Snr, AMEC splits from OEDA, Crownline reprieve

The marine industry has been saddened by the passing of legend to all and friend to so many, John Haines Snr. My colleague, Bob Wonders reflects on the life of a man who contributed so much, as well as the thoughts and tributes from those who knew him in all facets of his very productive life.

Vale John Haines.

In other news, a breakaway organisation has been formed by former members of OEDA, forming a new body known as The Australian Marine Engine Council Inc (AMEC). The division and resulting new group was a consequence “of the growing discontent with some of the Outboard Engine Distributors Association (OEDA) members' inability to commit to sustainable boating practices”.

AMEC's foundation member companies involve distributors and factory representatives of iconic brands including BRP Evinrude®, Honda, Suzuki, Volvo Penta, Yanmar, Skeeter, Torqeedo and EFFA.

As if that were not enough for one week, we have plenty in the way of global and local launches, boat shows and opportunities.

Please stay in touch and enjoy our features and news items each and every day.
