Editorial

Welcome aboard for the latest Powerboat-World newsetter.

By now, the sad, though expected news came through that the boating community had lost a ‘towering figure' with the passing of John Haines, A.M. We take a look back at a magnificent life and bring to you many of the tributes that flowed thick and fast from boating community leaders, rivals and powerboat racing competitors.

On the home front, we're headed up the motorway tomorrow for the 2009 Brisbane Boat Show, where more than 115 exhibitors are set to display the tricks of their trade.

A few changes to report on regarding the rapidly-approaching Redcliffe Superboat Grand Prix, final round of the 2009 Offshore Superboat Championships.

Migaloo the White Whale is back in the Whitsundays, no doubt boat watching, its the season after all.

Plenty of other news around the traps and if boating and boats qualifies as ‘your go', you've come to the right place.

Stop by regularly, we update all the news here as it happens.

Our sincere condolences are extended to the Haines family.
