Welcome Sail-World.Com's USA newsletter for 25 August 2009

USA is well off the pace in the Laser Worlds being staged in Halifax, Nova Scotia. With just one race left in the hurricane plagued event, the top US competitor, Clayton Johnson is lying 41st overall despite having had a very good opening day. Today the competitors were visited by the class designer, Bruce Kirby (CAN). We have full cover of the event in this issue along with Kirby's comment on the day.

In the SAP 505 Worlds, the traffic is all one way, as US competitors hold the first three positions overall after three days racing on the Berkley Circle. In this issue we have full reports and image galleries on the event, which is probably one of the top world championship events of the non-Olympic classes.

The 470 Worlds are well underway in Denmark. , Stuart McNay and Graham Biehl are keeping the US flag at full hoist, lying in the top ten, while in the Womens event the top US crew is just two places adrift of the top group.

Good sailing!
