Whew! The 3rd China Cup has been and gone, and there was some great racing out there on Daya Bay. You can't fault putting thirty 40-footers on a start line, but we still reckon there is room for improvement before the China Cup is as good as it claims to be.
BMW Oracle dropped her rig, estimated cost USD10m, and the official line is that "it only had one or two more days usage left anyway..." That makes the current AC spat even more expensive in both gear and R&D than most of us can even imagine... it really makes the eyes water!
If you haven't yet signed in to our competition to win a '5th man' spot on an Oman Sail Extreme 40 in either Hong Kong or Singapore - why not? Just wander across to the appropriate box and click! You've got to be in it to win it, as the saying goes.
Sail-World's Richard Gladwell provides his usual elegant "cut to the chase" commentary on the state of the AC, and (in case you need to know this) Sail-World is now on Twitter.
