In the Etchells Nationals we hope to have a report in the next day or so, however the regatta was won by Alistair Gair, with an Australian crew second and Anatole Masfen in third. Great to see this class having good racing just to the west of the harbour Bridge.
In the Atlantic Franck Cammas and friends abroad Groupama 3 have aborted their world circumnavigation attempt for the Jules Verne Trophy, after discovering damage to one of the amas (floats). We have the full stories in this edition along with several video's from YouTube, which are compelling viewing.

BOR90 with her night sails set to stop her sailing on the mooring in downtown San Diego Sail-World.Com/USA
We do have some great photos of BMW Oracle Racing's America's Cup Challenger, BOR90, taken by a visiting New Zealander while she was on her mooring last night. We hope to have some on the water shots today, but a check of the live webcam early this morning, showed her bottom wing panel was still under repair and missing from the yacht.
If you haven't done the Coastguard_Boating_Education_Services!www.cbes.org.nz kayak test take the time to do it now by clicking here. Even if you are not directly involved in kayaking, it is a great way to test your emergency thinking and just what you would need in an crisis. Better to get this sorted out now, rather than wait for that emergency situation to arise, and then find out some things that you should have had on board, but unfortunately are still in the boat shop. The phrase 'It's no good calling home for Mum' is just as true around the NZ coastline, as it was when the expression was coined in the Southern Ocean during a Whitbread Race.
For updates on all these events and more, keep a regular check on our website www.sail-world.com.
You can submit your event/regatta/class/boat news by Clicking Here - all copy will be published, please include a photo or three with a side over 1280px wide. There's a new big icon on the home page of www.sail-world.com to make it even easier for you.
