The Louis Vuitton Trophy, Auckland, has been showing on a big screen in the Main Bar at the RHKYC these last few days. On Friday night one member said to me, “this America's Cup thing is dragging on too long, when's it going to be over?” So I bought him a beer and explained that the AC is over for the time being, and what is happening in Auckland is not the AC (even though it is sailed in IACC boats). Image problem? Perception problem?
