We have kept our Spike Doriean tribute article front and centre again today. You can read some wonderful comments about Spike and there are banking details for the Doriean Family appeal.

Entries are rolling in for the 2010 Club Marine Brisbane to Keppel Tropical Yacht Race. The 348 nautical mile race, hosted by Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron is now in its fourth year and since releasing the Notice of Race just three days ago, already 13 yachts have entered.

The 2009 race record holder Black Jack (Peter Harburg) is back for this year's race however will be challenged by the inaugural race winner Wedgetail (Bill Wild) when they line up against each other on the start line on Friday 6 August at 1500 hours.

The RQYS race organizers are hoping for 30-40 entries this year.

The Notice of Race, Online Entry and Payment as well as associated entry documents are now available from the race website – www.brisbanetokeppel.com

SOS Ocean Racing - the first hit out in Brisbane to Gladstone

The rush to get to the start of the 62nd First Tax & Duty Free Brisbane to Gladstone was amazing. I have never felt so under prepared to go sailing however I really wanted to be with the fleet and this kept me pushing through.
