So, we survived the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show and now all you people out there think we've got it easy, don't you?
No way, we're in the middle of ‘boat show season' with Melbourne (July 1-5), Adelaide (July 15-18), Sydney (July 29-August 2) and Brisbane (August 26-29). Of course, this is where you'll be kept right up to date with all that's happening at the capital city shows, just part of our service.
That's all in the future, for now we've got plenty to keep you occupied for an hour or several.
In Sydney, Premier Marine is on the ball as the Australian distributor for the US-built Regal. Dealer principal Steve Hannes is also the authorised distributor for Chris-Craft across Australia with the exception of Victoria. The dealership has some exciting new releases scheduled.
For Sydneysiders, don't forget Sunday and the Family Boats demo day on the Parramatta River and a chance to try out some of the excellent new Travellers from the Haines Marine Group.
Up in Brisbane and later, down in Victoria, that auctioneer of the boating industry, Adrian Seiffert is about to offer hard to resist bargains to buyers looking for a boat at the ‘right price'.
And how would you like to do the stock take at Sydney company All Marine Spares? Don't volunteer, this trade only supplier boasts more than 1.5 million spare parts and components in stock at any one time!
Just north of Sydney we catch up with a young man who really does enjoy a dash of speed. Tim Fenwick's the name, and a very quick boat called ‘Southern Cross' is his game.
For boaters and anglers along the far north NSW coast, NSW Maritime has issued a weather alert; it probably came too late for the people of the pretty beachside town of Lennox Head, virtually ripped apart early on Thursday morning by a tornado. But looking at the BOM radar a few minutes ago, I can see its pouring on the NSW central coast and around Sydney, althoug the weather is scheduled to clear.
To end on a pleasant note, Virginia Chadwick, a nice lady who passed away a couple of years back, will now be remembered with a reef named after her. Virginia Chadwick Reef will honour the lady who was the first female chair of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, a role she held for a productive eight-years.
So read on, good people (and bad people too, for that matter) absorb all the powerboat news as it happens right here on the pages of Powerboat-World.
We're here through the week, so keep in touch.
