Sail-World New Zealand: 22 June 2010

La-Rochelle Coupe d ete Match Race
Welcome to Sail-World.com's New Zealand newsletter for 22 June 2010

It has been a very mixed bag for the New Zealand crews competing internationally.

In Marseille, France, the Audi MedCup spluttered to a finish due to too much wind.

In Kiel, Germany, the sixth event on the World Sailing Cup has been backfiring badly, due to a lack of wind.

But in La Rochelle, Black Sheep Racing have notched up another win, after bouncing a second Kiwi crew out of the Semi-Final. A second New Zealand crew competed in the Slovenia Cup.

We have reports on these regattas in this edition, along with one filed online by Black Sheep Racing.

There's some stirring on the America's Cup scene, where the very well connected Stuart Alexander, yachting correspondent of The Independent writes that the issuing of the Protocol for the 34th America's Cup may not be too far away. Time will tell, we guess.

And, ValenciaSailing talks to Patrick Lim of the World Match Racing Tour, about his hopes for the future of the regatta.

Remember, if your event PR person is not yet sending news and images to Sail-World.com, please gently point out the submit banner on the top of the news on every single page on our site.
