Riviera exits administration, AMIF regroups, whales worth more alive
There is reason for exuberant celebration up Queensland's Coomera way this week, but knowing the team from Riviera, emerging from administration this week will be marked with quiet determination and a raft of plans for the rest of the year. CEO John Anderson reports rosy sales figures from around the world - equating to a rate of 2.3 new boats per week over the past year - and opportunities for new employees as a second production lines comes on. No wonder John looks ecstatic in the photo accompanying the story!
Next financial year, Riviera is anticipting an annualised production of over 100 new boats. These are projections to celebrate and our entire industry should share in a toast to Riviera's grit, tenacity and success.

A new international report this week proves whale watching is a boom industry as tourists flock to see these massive mammals in their marine environments. The forecast growth in the industry and its lucrative bounty is ammunition for those opposed to whaling for food and "scientific research".
In Asia, plans are already underway and exhibitor information being circulated for PIMEX 2011, Thailand's only boat show, organised by the Informa Group, also responsible for Monaco and Abu Dhabi Yacht Shows. Then over in NZ, the Christchurch Boat Show will be held at the Christchurch Convention Centre, 16 to 18 July.
