Sunferries Magnetic Island fun, affordable breeze and sunshine breeze – and record growth

We look at the rise and rise of the Magnetic Island regatta that has grown to 70 boats in just four years. Sunferries Stephanie Cairns says there is still time to be there NEXT Friday.... and atr least some of the locals are friendly

Hamilton news - there was a 12 knot surge today that has allowed the Hamilton Island fleet to do some small passage courses. Will bring news, images and results shortly.

Just back from Qingdao, where there were some interesting contrasts between the plans for the future pronounced by Chinese yachting officials and yet another cancelled Chinese regatta. We live in interesting times.

At 09:03:55 GMT today (24/08/10) skipper Sidney Gavignet (FRA) on-board Oman Air Majan crossed the finish line off Lizard Point, Cornwall to smash the single handed Round Britain and Ireland record. The A100 trimaran broke the existing record held by Thomas Coville by a massive one day 15 hours 30 minutes and 44 seconds.... [more]
