The Sail-World Team has been on the water at the Moth Worlds, where Nathan Outteridge is appearing to be unstoppable, the Dragon Worlds, Musto Skiffs and Etchells all of the above and our detailed reports continue unabated, but its hard not to be distracted by the flood drama in Queensland.
Down here in on Port Phillip and west at Corio Bay -its raining hard, but its nothing really.
Up north an area of Queensland and Northern NSW, according to one US report ‘larger than Texas', much bigger than France and Germany combined is underwater as torrential and unrelenting rain just keeps tumbling down.
More than 250,000 people have been evacuated, thousands of homes destroyed, many more severely damaged and lives lost; at this stage we don't even know how many, Police say 79 (confirmed) with that toll likely to rise with 90 or so people unaccounted for.
The boating industry has been hit as hard as any other; numerous marine dealerships in country towns are submerged, marinas have been destroyed, hundreds of boats sunk or damaged beyond repair, with many washed out to sea!
