The first of the new Nowra NSW built Sydney Yacht's GTS 43 is in the water in Sydney. A welcome event, well done Bazz Williams, Jason Royed and everyone in the Sydney Yachts team and a special congratulations to the proud new owner Warwick Sherman.

Good news too, to discover that the Gold Coast will play host to the 2011-2012 Clipper later this year.

Yacht club demolished after irreparable Christchurch earthquake damage

Earthquake damaged Pleasant Point Yacht Club was demolished last week. It is the second yacht club building to be demolished February 2011 earthquake. Earlier a boatshed belonging to the Christchurch Yacht Club was demolished. Both clubs are located in the Christchurch Estuary which borders some of the worst damage and liquefaction from the earthquakes that have struck the region.... [more]

Ocean Racing Club of Victoria's Winter Series has attracted just under 40 of Melbourne's best racing crews. The boats they're racing range from 52 to 30 feet. Race one was conducted in 20-25 knot Northerlies, with the seas very much under a metre and that means it was fun and games for all concerned. ISAF Youth Sailing World Championships 2011 - Tessa Parkinson and Elise Rechichi (AUS) sailed the 420 together at the 2004 ISAF Youth Worlds in Gdynia, Poland winning gold.
