Andhoey - the story gets stranger and stranger  .. .
Spectrum policy expert Michael J. Marcus questions whether the recent alarm and resultant lobbying by the marine industry is warranted with respect to the LightSquared threat to the GPS system in the United States.

Still in the USA, lobbying in another area is seeing results with the pause in introduction of E15 (reputed to cause significant problems for marine engines), while further research is assessed.

If you've been sail training, Britain's Royal Yachting Association (RYA) wants your help to shape the future of training, even if your sail training was not with an authorised RYA sailing school.

The amazing tale of tearaway Norwegian adventurer Jarle Andhoey, now illegally on the Antarctic ice shelf, gets stranger and stranger – and a New Zealand billionaire has voiced the unspeakable by hoping aloud that his yacht, the Nilaya, sinks!

Wanna go sailing, but no boat and little money? Be a volunteer for OceansWatch, sailing the remote South Pacific...

Some useful practical tips and reminders – how to use a sea anchor by one of the inventors, and how to read the 'smoke signals' from your diesel engine. Great for checking your knowledge on these vital skills.

Lots of other news too, from the vital to the fanciful to the just-plain-quirky, so browse the headlines to find your interest, and...

Sweet sailing!

Sea anchor - do you know how to use yours to save your life?
