It's gone a little quiet in Asia on the sailing front, but that won't last long. The Koh Samui Regatta - 'under new management' - starts tomorrow, with four TP52s on the start line and a total line-up of 34 boats of which 11 are racing in IRC 1. They call it The Tropical Island Regatta (which is fair enough!), and Samui is possibly the most idyllic location among all the major Asian regattas. Race reports coming up - watch this space.
At the same time, the Korean International Boat Show and the WMRT Korea Cup take off at Tando Port in Gyeonggi Province, on the west coast of Korea just south of Seoul. Over the last few years there has been a huge government-driven effort to establish a marine leisure industry in Korea, and we will be bringing you an update on where it's at. Marinas are being (read: 'have been') built, and a new canal now connects the Han River in the middle of Seoul through to the sea on the west coast. Time to go and have a look.
