Windy Miami racecourse action—Sailing news from the U.S. and beyond

'Windy for sure today, 20 plus average,' reported Star sailor Peter O'Leary. 'Once we got going it was a proper Bacardi Cup regatta, in which we stretched legs and hiked hard. The main challenge of the day was to stay in pressure and take advantage of the big breeze.'

Day 2 of the Gaastra World Championship of 52 Super Series on March 6th, 2013 in Miami, USA.  Xaume Olleros/52 Superseries

Also in Miami, the TP52 World Championship 2013 is unfurling off of Key Biscayne. Here, eight top TP52 teams have gathered to determine 2013 bragging rights and to enjoy some fine, early season conditions. According to reports, they weren't disappointed.

'Today we were doing the dictating rather than being dictated to as it was in the first race yesterday,' said Adrian Stead, tactician aboard 'Ran Racing'. 'It is a good feeling. I am pleased we have won three races on the trot and in that first race we left quite a lot out there on the racetrack. And now we are back in the running for the Worlds and that feels good.'
