An amazing variety of news from our coastlines and the world's oceans again this week. Oceanswatch sailors under the leadership of New Zealander Chris Bone are reporting on some of their successes in the South Pacific, the Manhattan Sailing Club in New York are ecstatic about their new fast floating clubhouse (making we who belong to land-based yacht clubs not a little envious), and teen round-world sailor Laura Dekker isn't too happy about the documentary on her life - but isn't saying why.
Some wonderfully practical articles too, on products and skills we all need – how to survive 'Med mooring' which Australians seem to dread so much; how to whip your lines, how to make your fibreglass shine in all weathers. Finally read how the Kiwi Manson Boss anchor tests show that the 'New-Generation' anchor technology might see such old-timers as the CQR extinct within not too many years.
Bruce Arms - appearing soon at the Middle Harbour Yacht Club in Sydney .. .
Worthy of special note is that Bruce Arms, the non-stop solo record-holder for a circumnavigation of Australia is to appear and speak at the Middle Harbour Yacht Club in Sydney soon. Be there if you can!
