America´s Cup belching, Sanctuary Cove Boat Show
Sail-World´s Richard Gladwell writes today `There could be some belching in San Francisco before teams digest, and maybe sign-off, the 37 recommendations published by the America's Cup Regatta Director, Australia Iain Murray yesterday.
The recommendations came on the back of a fatal accident on the Swedish AC72, after the death of double British Olympic Medallist, Andrew Simpson.
The Review process has been conducted with the US Coast Guard looking over Murray's shoulder, as it is the USCG's responsibility to issue Special Local Regulations and an Event Permits to allow the America's Cup Regatta to take place.
We have some spectacular Am-Cam video of Emirates Team New Zealand's blast under the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, from the New Zealand challenger's first sail at the venue of the 34th America's Cup. Wind was about 16kts maximum, and seas described by the team as flat. Other video from the same sources shows Luna Rossa doing her runs.
Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show 2013 was blessed with fine weather on day one, mostly sunshine with passing showers, today was sunny early but the wind is picking up still with plenty of sunshine.

There are more exhibitors than last year, with some interesting new technology here this week and we will report on those in more detail over the weekend, with interviews from numbers of key people at this years show.
A welcome addition to the boat show circuit is the City of Melbourne's Melbourne Moors, its seems Melbourne has finally realised she is a waterfront city.

New technology does not take long to find its place on the marine scene and lots of electronics advances in cartography, below and above the water. As Forward Looking Infra Red trickles down from the military to the consumer boating world, and the breadth of applications is quite amazing and spending a little time on the FLIR stand in the Superyacht Pavilion is an eye opening experience.
Our video interviews are being posted regularly so check back regularly to see and hear the latest.
