COUNTDOWN: Sydney Show, $1 reserve boat auction, marina scholarship

Sydney Boat Show crowds on the marina  BIA NSW

Thursday 1 August (SPRING!) is the opening day, and this year, the last at Darling Harbour for a few years while this central and ideal venue is given an overhaul. Fear not! Glebe Island will be the interim venue for on-water displays until returning to the vastly improved Darling Harbour site in 2017 to coincide with the BIA's planned celebrations for the Show's 50th event, and by all accounts, it will be a great location.

So, with just a week and a bit to go til the country's premier boat show, we have all the news for launches, world firsts and VIP visitors from all over the globe, in Sydney for the event and for a slew of B2B opportunities, thanks to AIMEX and Superyacht Australia.

Sydney Boat Show crowds in the Halls  BIA NSW

MarineBusiness-World.com's news coverage from the Sydney International Boat Show will be bigger than ever this year.

The MarineBusiness-World.com Video Studio on the main show floor (booth 426) will allow us to conduct around 80 video interviews, with industry heavyweights, a cross section of exhibitors, government reps, keynote speakers and more.

These interviews will be posted on the Boat Show website, on YouTube and naturally on MarineBusiness-World.com, Powerboat-World.com, FishingBoating-World.com and Sail-World.com web sites.

Having a central location will allow our team to bring you all the news and new products during the show and in volume, rather than wandering around and posting them in dribs and drabs weeks after!

Cruising Masterclass looks like it will be House Full  .. .

Notable too, that the the Sail-World organised Cruising MasterClass looks like it will have a House Full sign up!

If you have news or any information you want to share before SIBS 2013, send it to us at editor@marinebusiness-world.com

John with one of the brand-new Nobles Marine Auctions has on offer.  Marine Auctions

Also this week, the innovative online $1 reserve auction on 5 brand new Noble boats, which our friends at Marine Auctions, based at Brisbane's Rivergate, will be auctioning off starting on Thursday at midday. It's a great way to raise awareness of the brand and its models, all sturdy, all-rounders that director of Marine Auctions, Adrian Seiffert tells us are a hit with fishos countrywide. Check out all the specs and auction details at www.marineauctions.com.au

The Marina Industry Association is offering an excellent scholarship for suitably qualified people to attend the Advanced Marina Management (AMM) School being held in Sydney in September. Hydrogenesis  .. ©
Much, much more, including an awesome Hydrogen-powered ferry which just launched in the UK, as part of a green initiative in Bristol City. Not so impressive as old Migaloo the megayacht sub, but great for the environment apparently, and commuters!

So, hear from you soon with your Sydney International Boat Show scoops, or any other matter you want to share or air.

Best boating and see you in Sydney - in SPRING!!
